Mission Statement
The Peace Research Foundation is a nonprofit educational organization dedicated
to the creation, application, and general dissemination of a body of knowledge
concerning the subject of peace, through the recognition of peace studies as a
multidisciplinary concern within the international academic community.
In addressing the subject of peace, the Peace Research Foundation considers a
wide array of issues that contribute to a worldwide understanding of peace. The
Peace Research Foundation undertakes these considerations without advocating any
political, religious, or nationalistic position related to peace.
To that end, the Peace Research Foundation solicits and distributes funds to
promote research, study, and teaching related to peace; facilitates contacts,
cooperation, and coordination among researchers, educators, and scholars on the
subject of peace; encourages worldwide dissemination of results of peace
research; supports and coordinates dialogue among educators, historians, social
scientists, public officials, and policy makers; publishes and distributes
materials for study of peace in educational institutions around the world.
Through its activities, the Peace Research Foundation will enable researchers,
teachers and scholars to improve their understanding of peace through
multidisciplinary studies. Among the activities to which the Peace Research
Foundation will apply its financial and intellectual resources are:
- Develop and maintain a resource base for Peace Studies to be included on
the Internet.
